We are undertaking a large-scale Figma design system migration, moving a highly interconnected enterprise Figma environment from one account to another. This includes shared libraries, complex component hierarchies, and a token architecture managed through Token Studio.
We are seeking a Figma design systems specialist with deep technical expertise to lead this migration end to end. This is a hands-on, highly specialised role focused on the technical mechanics of Figma at scale not a generalist product or visual design position. You will work closely with an active design team and play a critical role in ensuring a clean, stable, and future-proof transition.
Responsibilities
Design Systems & Library Management
- Audit existing Figma files to map shared libraries, component dependencies, and token connections across foundations, patterns, templates, and working files
- Duplicate and restructure the Foundations library into a brand-specific version while maintaining naming integrity and component relationships
- Execute Figma s Swap Library workflow across the full file set to reconnect components after migration
- Manually resolve components that cannot be automatically matched, including renamed, removed, or structurally changed assets
- Validate the published state of all libraries post-migration to ensure downstream files update correctly
- Document library decisions, structural changes, and known gaps for long-term team use
Tokens & Variables
- Set up Token Studio in the new Figma account and connect it to a brand-specific token set
- Validate all token connections (colour, typography, spacing, and component-level tokens) after migration
- Identify and resolve broken or mismatched token references
- Ensure the token architecture supports an independent, scalable design system going forward
Migration Execution & QA
- Run an early proof of concept by migrating a low-impact team and library into a sandbox environment and documenting findings
- Coordinate with organisation administrators on team and workspace transfers
- Execute the migration in a sequenced manner to minimise disruption to active design work
- Perform full QA prior to handover, confirming no broken references, missing libraries, or disconnected tokens remain
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including files, libraries, components, variants, and publishing workflows
- Hands-on experience managing or rebuilding shared Figma libraries at scale
- Strong understanding of design token architecture and its mapping to Figma variables and styles
- Practical experience using Figma s Swap Library feature in real-world scenarios
- Proven ability to audit large, complex Figma environments and identify structural dependencies independently
- Highly detail-oriented and methodical, with comfort handling high-volume, precision work
- Able to work autonomously and drive execution without constant direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Token Studio, including setup, configuration, and multi-brand token management
- Familiarity with Figma Enterprise administration (org settings, team structure, library sharing)
- Previous involvement in design system migrations, brand splits, or Figma organisation transitions
- Experience working with multi-brand design systems and shared foundations
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
