Mobile UI/UX Designer for React Native App Redesign (Figma/Prototypes Needed)

We have a fully functional React Native dating app (iOS/Android) that's ready for a frontend redesign. The current UI is solid but feels outdated—we want to transform it into something modern, authentic, and sleek to stand out in the dating app market. Think Hinge meets Bumble: clean minimalism, warm and genuine vibes, with smooth animations and a premium feel. No coding required—just high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes in Figma.

The app is built with React Native, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn-inspired components, so designs must be mobile-first and feasible to implement in RN (e.g., avoid complex web-only effects).

Key Goals for Redesign

1. Modern: Incorporate current trends like neumorphism/soft shadows, micro-interactions (e.g., swipe animations, haptic feedback cues), adaptive dark/light modes, and gesture-friendly layouts.

2. Authentic: Emphasize real-user vibes—warm colors, approachable typography, and elements that promote genuine interactions (e.g., highlighted prompts, subtle storytelling in profiles). Avoid generic stock designs.

3. Sleek: Premium, polished aesthetic with gradients, subtle animations, high-contrast readability, and optimized for performance (e.g., lazy loading hints for images). Ensure iOS/Android consistency while respecting platform guidelines.

Scope of Work

You'll redesign ~20-25 key screens based on our existing app structure. We'll provide:

Access to the current app (via TestFlight or APK) for reference.

Wireframes/screenshots of existing flows.

Brand guidelines (e.g., color palette, logo).

Deliverables

Wireframes: Low-fidelity sketches for all main flows (onboarding, discovery, profiles, matches/messaging, video calls, settings).

High-Fidelity Designs: Pixel-perfect Figma screens in mobile resolutions (e.g., iPhone 14/15, Android equivalents). Include variations for light/dark modes and states (e.g., loading, error, empty).

Interactive Prototypes: Clickable Figma prototypes demonstrating key user flows (e.g., swiping in Discover, editing profile, etc.). Include animations/transitions.

Design System: A Figma component library with reusable elements (buttons, inputs, cards, icons) aligned with Tailwind/shadcn for easy dev handoff.

Annotations: Notes on interactions, animations, and RN feasibility (e.g., "Use react-native-reanimated for this swipe").

Revisions: Up to 2 rounds of feedback.

Timeline

Week 1: Discovery + wireframes.

Week 2: High-fid designs + initial prototype.

Week 3: Revisions + final delivery.

Total: 3-4 weeks (flexible for part-time).

Requirements

Proven experience with mobile UI/UX design (portfolio with dating/social apps preferred).

Expertise in Figma (prototyping, auto-layout, components).

Understanding of React Native constraints (e.g., no CSS hover; focus on touch/gestures).

Familiarity with dating app UX patterns (swiping, matching, privacy).

Strong communication—weekly updates via Upwork.
