About the project

We're launching a specialized service-booking platform in the US market, a focused, single-vertical service business serving both consumers and small business clients on tight timelines. The brand strategy, naming, and full visual identity are complete. We have a finished brand book covering logo system, color palette, typography, illustration set, and brand voice. What we need now is a senior product designer to translate that identity into a production-ready set of Figma designs for the customer-facing platform.

We'll share full project details, including the brand and category, with shortlisted candidates under NDA.

What we need designed

The core scope is the customer booking experience and supporting marketing site. Specifically:

  • Marketing site: landing page, services page, pricing/quote page, about, FAQ, contact
  • Booking flow: address and property details, service selection, scheduling, contact info, payment, confirmation
  • Customer dashboard: booking status, history, account basics
  • Email and confirmation templates: booking confirmed, reminder, completion, receipt
  • Mobile-responsive designs for everything above (mobile is likely 60%+ of our traffic)
  • A digital style guide / component library in Figma that a developer can build against

We may also want a lightweight admin/operator view for internal use, but that's a stretch goal and can be scoped separately.

What you'll receive from us

  • Full brand book (PDF + source files) under NDA
  • A written product brief covering MVP scope, booking logic, and key user flows
  • Direct access to the founder for decisions, no committee, no slow approvals
  • Reference products we admire and want to learn from
  • Clear written feedback within 2 business days on every deliverable

Who we're looking for

A senior product designer based in the US with serious experience designing consumer-facing booking, marketplace, or local-service platforms. Examples of relevant prior work would be products in the services-on-demand, home-services, or scheduled-appointment categories, anything where customers book a real-world service through a digital flow. We need someone who thinks in user flows and edge cases, not just beautiful screens, someone who'll ask "what happens if the customer enters an address outside our service area" before we have to ask them.

Specifically, you should be

  • Fluent in Figma including auto-layout, components, variants, and developer handoff
  • Comfortable working from a completed brand book and translating it into digital UI
  • Strong at information architecture and booking flow design
  • Mobile-first in your thinking
  • A clear writer. UX copy matters to us and we'd like a designer who can draft strong microcopy, not placeholder lorem ipsum

How we like to work

  • Weekly check-ins, async updates in between
  • Phased delivery: discovery and wireframes first, then high-fidelity, then revisions and handoff
  • Two to three rounds of revisions built into the engagement
  • We give feedback in writing with specific references, no vague "make it pop"
  • We move fast on decisions and expect the same in return

Timeline and budget

We're aiming to complete this design phase within 8 to 10 weeks. Hourly engagement with a not-to-exceed cap, billed weekly through Upwork.

To apply

In your proposal, please include

1. Two or three portfolio examples of consumer-facing booking or service-platform work you've designed (links to live products preferred over Dribbble shots)

2. A short paragraph on how you'd approach the first two weeks of this project

3. Your typical process for working from a completed brand book

4. One question you'd want answered before quoting

Proposals that skip the questions or send a generic template will be passed over. We're hiring carefully and looking for a real fit.
