Senior UI/UX Designer (Strategic Thinker, Not Just a Figma Operator) - Contract to Hire
Upwork
We are CPEKS, a digital product studio working on SaaS platforms, web applications, and high-impact business websites.
We have already worked with many UI/UX designers — and to be very honest, most only know how to use tools like Figma, not how to think like a designer.
That is exactly why we are posting this job.
❌ Who this role is NOT for
Designers who wait for pixel-by-pixel instructions
Designers who only “follow references” without understanding the business
Designers who can use Figma but cannot explain why a layout works
Designers who need us to define every spacing, flow, component, and UX logic
If you need full hand-holding, this role is not for you.
✅ Who this role IS for
We are looking for a true UI/UX problem solver — someone who can:
Take a raw business idea or concept
Analyze the target users, industry, and competitors
Define user flows, IA (information architecture), UX logic
Propose multiple creative design directions
Apply industry-standard UI/UX principles
Deliver clean, scalable, conversion-optimized designs
You should be able to think before designing — not just open Figma and start drawing boxes.
Your Responsibilities
Understand business goals, not just screens
Translate ideas into structured UX flows
Design high-quality wireframes and UI systems
Create layouts optimized for
SaaS products
Dashboards
Landing pages
Enterprise & eCommerce platforms
Apply UX best practices
Accessibility
Responsive design
Usability heuristics
Conversion optimization
Propose design variations and explain trade-offs
Work with developers by providing clear design logic and structure
Required Skills
Strong UI/UX fundamentals (not optional)
Ability to analyze before designing
Experience designing real products (not just Dribbble shots)
Deep understanding of
UX flows
Design systems
Component-based design
Mobile & desktop responsiveness
Figma (obviously) — but thinking matters more than tools
Ability to explain why a design decision was made
Big Plus (Not Mandatory, but Highly Valued)
Experience with SaaS or complex dashboards
Understanding of developer handoff and real-world constraints
Experience improving UX for conversion, retention, or usability
Ability to challenge ideas respectfully and propose better solutions
What You Will Get
Long-term collaboration (not one-off gigs)
Freedom to think, analyze, and design
No micromanagement if you deliver quality
Opportunity to work on serious, real products
Respect for your design decisions — if they are well-reasoned
Final Note
We are not hiring a “Figma expert.”
We are hiring a designer who can think, analyze, and lead design decisions.
If you believe design is more than visuals — we want to talk to you.
