UI/UX Designer Needed for Scientific Instrument Control Desktop App (Figma)

We’re building a web-based application used to operate a piece of lab equipment.

We’re looking for a UI/UX designer to create Figma mockups for a small number of screens and reusable components. The goal is to give our developers a clear visual and layout reference,.

This is a small, fixed-scope engagement (estimated 5–10 hours).

Scope of Work

You’ll design mockups for a limited set of screens, including:

• Main dashboard
• A visual layout representing the system and its components
• Clear “active / inactive” states
• Method editor
• Table-style layout for a sequence of steps
• Simple parameter editing dialogs
• Diagnostics view
• Reuse the main visual layout
• Simple pass/fail indicators
• A few basic supporting screens
• Run history (table)
• Simple login screen

We don’t need detailed interaction design or pixel-perfect polish — just clean, readable layouts and component definitions that developers can implement.

Deliverables

• A Figma file containing:
• Page layouts
• Reusable components
• Basic state variations (e.g., active vs inactive)
• Light notes inside Figma for developer handoff where helpful

What We’re Looking For

• Strong UI/UX fundamentals
• Experience delivering Figma designs to developers
• Comfort designing practical, non-marketing interfaces
