UI/UX Designer - Figma, React & Material Design | Remote (EST Hours)

BNL Consulting

BNL Consulting is seeking a UI/UX Designer with a strong track record of designing complex business applications — not just websites — that include multi-step workflows, dynamic forms, and data-rich views. You’ll play a key role in shaping user experiences for modern, responsive, React-based apps using Figma and aligned with the Ant Design (AntD) component framework.

  • This is a pure design position. You will be working as part of a collaborative UI/UX design team and will not be expected to write any front-end code.
  • You will work closely with developers and product managers, but your focus will be on creating clean, intuitive, and component-aware UI/UX designs, not implementation.

This is a full-time, W-2 remote position, available immediately, with work aligned to Eastern Time Zone (EST) hours. Applicants must be based in the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate on wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma
  • Design data-heavy application interfaces, including forms, workflows, dashboards, and map views
  • Translate complex workflows into intuitive, elegant UI solutions for both web and mobile platforms
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define and refine the user experience
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure designs align with Ant Design (AntD) component constraints and development workflows
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and incorporate feedback into continuous design improvements
  • Ensure accessibility and responsiveness are considered in all design work (WCAG/508 awareness)
  • Help maintain and evolve design systems and UI libraries in collaboration with development teams
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, design critiques, and sprint planning meetings

The Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of experience designing UI/UX for web and/or mobile applications
  • Strong expertise in Figma for UX workflows, prototyping, and design system work
  • Solid understanding of UX design for forms, user workflows, and enterprise interactions
  • Familiarity with React and how design translates to component-based front-end development
  • Experience applying AntD concepts and patterns to real-world applications
  • Portfolio showcasing application designs (not just websites), ideally with examples involving data input, conditional flows, or map views
  • Strong communication skills and ability to advocate for user needs in a cross-functional team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field

The Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working with developers using Storybook, MUI, or similar component libraries
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and accessibility best practices
  • Experience with motion design, interactive prototyping, or design tokens
  • Background in user testing, journey mapping, or UX research methodologies
